The Slotted Spoon

A slotted spoon is almost always used when preparing food. It is very useful for separating solid food

from liquids. When the slotted spoon is around the size of a ladle it is mostly used for retrieving solid food from

cooking liquid while keeping the liquid in the pot. The smaller slotted spoon is used a lot of times when you

are dealing with canned fruits and vegetables.
